Knee Deep Adventures has helped North Carolinians explore the natural beauty of the Tar River since 2015. Located in Greenville, KDA provides gear, instruction, and so much more. Whether you’re brand new to paddleboarding or you’re a SUP guru, KDA can set you up for success. The crew at KDA will help you make your next outing on the river memorable.

Where to Start

If this will be your first time out on the water, don’t worry. KDA can help you get comfortable in several ways. Before you launch, an employee will go over the basics with you and your group. KDA wants beginners to learn how much fun time on the water can be, so it has invested in stable, beginner-friendly kayaks. Don’t be shy when you call or go online to make a reservation. KDA is happy to go over all the ways you can ensure your outing is a blast.

I Think I Need More Guidance

KDA has you covered. If you’re still hesitant and worried that a brief lesson wouldn’t be enough, ask about prepping with private lessons for an additional fee. The guides of KDA can help you build the confidence you need. If you’d rather have a guide along on your trip, you can request one as well. What matters most is getting out on the water, and KDA wants to support you in whatever way you need.

What You’ll See on the Tar River

Many beginners may wonder what’s so great about floating down the river. But they’ll quickly change their mind once they see what the Tar River has to offer. KDA will help you choose from several routes, and they are all spectacular. You may spot some of the rich wildlife in the area, including beavers, turtles, turkeys, and deer. Soaring overhead or nestled in the trees, you might spot bald eagles and owls. In addition, some of the shallows might harbor herons. No two trips are the same.

Safety and Fun For Everyone

Everyone is welcome out on the water — even your dog. Knee Deep Adventures is pet-friendly and provides life jackets from infant size up to XXL. The life jacket makes your trip much safer and will keep you afloat even if you do not know how to swim. All beginners get assistance before launching in the water. And if bad weather threatens and you’re not comfortable going out, call KDA to reschedule for a sunny day.
