Practice Improving Your Posture With These Fun Stretches

If you suffer from neck pain, back pain, and stiffness, improving your posture could be a great place to start. Posture can be affected by many things, sleeping even being one of them. We have a few stretches you can try if your posture is needing some help.

Shoulder Rolls

If you find yourself sitting for long periods of time, shoulder rolls are a great stretch to try. To do this stretch, stand in a comfortable and relaxed position. Take a deep breath and lift your shoulder towards your ears. When you are exhaling, roll your shoulders back while pulling your shoulder blades together. You will instantly feel this stretch working.

Chest Release

While standing in a straight position, lift your arms up to shoulder height with your palms facing forward. Gradually push both hands behind you while squeezing your shoulder blades together.

Pyramid

This stretch calls for a little bit of focus and will feel great and do great for your posture. Start with your left foot behind you being flat on the floor. Put your hands behind your back and take a deep breath in. When you exhale, lean forward as much as you can. Make sure you switch your legs.

Spine Stretch

Sit down with your legs straight out and your toes pointed towards the ceiling. Sit with your back straight and take a deep breath in. when you exhale reach straight out in front of you. Do not try to reach for your toes, simple stretch straight out in front.

Child’s Pose

This stretch helps with your spine, glutes, and hamstrings. After you do this pose you will feel released tension in your lower back and neck as well. Simply sit on your shinbones with your knees close together and lean forward to the ground. You will instantly feel this stretch working.

Forward Fold

Your spine, hamstrings, and glutes will be feeling this stretch. Stand with your heels slightly apart and bring your hands towards your ankles. Bend your knees slightly and tuck your chin into your chest. If you can, try to remain in this position for one minute.

By trying these stretches, you will see improvement in your posture. By taking a few minutes a day to do some stretches, your joints will be thanking you!
