Bookin’ It! 5k

The library is an integral part of your community, and you probably want to do whatever you can to ensure you see it thrive. And luckily for you, there’s a fun and easy way to do just that. That’s right – the Bookin’ It 5k & Fun Run is coming up, and you’re going to want to join in on the fun. Whether you’re a regular runner or just want to go for a walk, you can participate in this run and help your local library in the process.

The Details

The 5k and fun run will take place on Saturday, May 11. The 5k will begin promptly at 8 a.m., while the fun run will start just 15 minutes later at 8:15. It all starts at Farmville’s Town Common, and you’ll get to run past some of the most iconic parts of the town. And the best part? The proceeds from this race will all go to benefit the new facility of Farmville’s Public Library. Therefore, you can feel good about participating, knowing you are doing your part to make your community a better place.

Make sure you register for the race soon if you want to take part. Registration for both the 5k and the fun run ends on May 9, so you should make your plans to attend before that. However, if you want a T-shirt to commemorate the event, you’ll want to register by May 1.

Now, get some tips on how to make this race your best one yet.

Get Plenty of Rest

You can’t run your best race when you’re tired, so you will want to get plenty of rest the night before the run. Don’t stay up too late, and make sure not to consume anything that will keep you from getting a good night’s sleep. That way, you will be awake and alert first thing the next morning.

Drink Water

Getting dehydrated is a surefire way of ensuring you won’t have a good run. Don’t drink so much water that you’re sick, but make sure you drink enough to stay hydrated before your run.
