Now that spring has officially sprung, the weather is right for getting outside and firing up the grill. Whenever you want to take your cooking outdoors, consider these mouthwatering recipes.
Loaded Burger
There are all kinds of ways to make a hamburger once you’ve put some beef patties on the grill, and the gruyere and egg burger comes packed with a crowd-pleasing combination of toppings. The egg can be cooked in butter for a smooth, creamy texture, while the burger benefits from ingredients like olive oil, garlic, mustard, and thyme for a savory and satisfying flavor. When it all comes together with rich cheese on pretzel buns, finish the burger’s colorful presentation with some arugula and tomatoes.
A BBQ Standard
Ribs are a welcome addition to any BBQ, and you don’t need a special occasion to throw some on the grill. These country-style ribs start with a slow bake in the oven, and you can prep a sauce while you wait. On the stovetop, simmer ketchup, brown sugar, chile powder, vinegar, and a few other BBQ-friendly ingredients together for a few minutes to blend all the flavors. When the ribs are out of the oven, let them soak in some of the sauce, but keep a cup in reserve to serve them later. After the ribs have rested, finish them on the grill for about 10 minutes. This recipe calls for pork ribs, but you can also opt for beef ribs here if you prefer.
Shrimp on the Barbie
If you’re in the mood for seafood, try the shrimp skewers with a kick of chile spice. Even though the recipe calls for a marinade, the entire dish comes together fairly quickly, and it starts by mixing cider vinegar with brown sugar, hot sauce, paprika, chile powder, and canola oil together to soak the shrimp. Once the shrimp have marinated anywhere from two to four hours, they’re ready to be loaded onto skewers then laid on the grill. Remember that it doesn’t take long for shrimp to cook through, so you’ll only need to grill them for two to three minutes on each side.
